A centre for vintage cars, garage, services and dealers for classic cars, shops for spare parts, clothing, model cars and accessories, restaurant, AND event space! All this and a bag of chips at the Classic Remise Düsseldorf.
The historic roundhouse building was designed in 1930 as a garage for steam locomotives to be serviced, but was converted in 2006 with an addition of a large, transparent and domed roof. Its 19,000 metres of industrial space houses around 300 cars to sell and admire, including glassed-in garages in which tenants can park their “old-timers” year round.
It’s a really cool space and the cars here are something else. I saw my favourites cars – the Ford Mustang Fastback and Shelby Mustang.
Some more gorgeous classic cars: a Porsche, a Maserati, an Aston Martin, a Jaguar, and an Alfa Romeo – some for sale, some for display and all no touchy.
Every week brings something new, as this “living museum” sees cars being delivered, repaired, or sold. Classic Remise Düsseldorf also feature traveling exhibitions, as well as, hosts events in their unique space. There’s also more than 30 companies offering a full range of services, including car restoration and insurance. It’s a classic car paradise for car lovers.
Even if you have a passing interest in cars, it’s worth a visit. It’s not #1 in things to do in Düsseldorf for nothing. And chances are, if you have a favourite car, it’s most likely to be here.
