Amidst a hectic week of work as we ready for Rigoletto to open this Saturday, I was interviewed by 2 local newspapers, The Straight and Vancouver Courier. I was the spokesperson for the company on our exciting social media initiatives and boy, I did not want to blow it.
That’s 2 times the nail-biting, 2 times the “I hope to god I don’t come off sounding like a nimrod” and 2 times the waiting anxiously for the interviews to hit the streets moments.
*A sigh of relief*
Compliments and assurances from co-workers and friends that I did great. Thank goodness for that media relations course.

Why aren’t there more opera companies like yours? Is this representative of your whole city? Because if it is, Vancouver sounds awesome. Nice article!
our opera company is le awesome. seriously.
the management is visionary and innovative. and we keep up with, if not keep ahead of the times. we’re certainly outpacing all the other arts organizations in vancouver (as well as all the other opera companies in canada) in social media and reaching out to new markets. plus we get a lot of support and love from our fans.
lots more surprises to come. stay tuned 😉
oh and if you ever visit vancouver and wanna come to an opera, i got a ticket with your name on it!
I was wondering the same thing as magic pants. Great article as well!!
