Solo Staycation at Fairmont Waterfront

Thank the ceiling for Stay Vancouver’s gift card promotion!

It is the reason why I can book all the 4 or 5 star hotel stays that I do. The promotion incentivizes locals to book a stay at any of the participating downtown Vancouver hotels during low (and sometimes early shoulder) season. In doing so, guests will get up to $125 Mastercard gift card (previously Visa gift card), which you can use towards dining, shopping, or you apply it to your room charge – which I always do.

Lucky 13th Anniversary to Us

Happy anniversary to us. Lucky 13!

To Sean who always has my back, loves me flaws and all, and who always try to make my day a little brighter – thank you for clocking this many miles with me.

We’ve had quite a time so far and there’s no one else I can imagine going on this ride with. Looking forward to making more imperfectly perfect memories with you.

Another year as my S/O. You lucky, lucky man. x

japanese themed cardboard cat house
Ermahgerd! How cute it this cardboard cat house fashioned after a Japanese izakaya bar?

Neither of that happened this past month.

A Birthday at the Inn at the Estuary on Nanoose Bay

Since travel is still not encouraged (and at your own risk), my dreams of waking up in a gloriously sunny city slash country for my milestone birthday had to be put on hold. That was hella bummer. But I’m trying my best to roll with it.

As a stop gap until I go on my make-up trip, I celebrated my birthday at a cool little inn at Nanoose Bay on the island, just 13 kilometres from Nanaimo.

2021: A Retrospective

2021. It wasn’t great, but it could’ve been a lot worse.

So it may not have been the dumpster fire as the previous year, but it was still kind of a trashcan fire of a year because the pandemic wasn’t done with all of us yet.

However, there was hope on the horizon.

Holiday Season Around Casa de Sullichan

grey cat in christmas tree
It’s the holiday season at Casa de Sullichan – 2021 edition.

We haven’t been venturing out slash housebound, due to days and days of snow and that it’s still pandemic times. But it’s been rather festive looking around here, so that makes it easier to get into the holiday spirit.
