Having a good girls night out probably ranks pretty high up there on the “things that rock” list. Especially when you haven’t seen your best friend in what seems like eons. Yeah, that “work and school schtuff” sure gets in the way. Everyone I know are at that stage in our careers where we toil long ass hours with huge effort for not too spectacular a pay. Welcome to the 30s!
Which is why Peggy and I made a promise Saturday night over a trio of dessert samplers: key lime pie, banana and chocolate bread pudding and chocolate pecan pie.
A promise that sure, we’ll work our asses off now, but we better be in a position that when we hit 50 (good god, did I just say 5-0?!?), that we’ll have not only financial stability and security, but be as high up there on the food chain, so that if we want to take off on a whim from work when travel beckons, WE CAN DO IT. And more importantly, we can AFFORD it.
So this is our oath that I put forth to the universe.

that was indeed an awesome night of catching up and its always nice to have great company to share stories/thoughts 🙂 its always good times w/u. time seems to go on fast forward right now with the our busy schedule. i rewatched “Click” recently, its a funny/touching movie with adams sandler/Kate b, not sure if youve watched it? i balled my eyes out. the movie makes me reflect on myself with how ive been brushing everyone away these past few yrs cuz of work. im so glad to be able to take time off in nov to spend some family time even tho its actually a busy time at work, f*k it!!
@ peg – you, of all people, deserve time off. you just have to remember to take it 😉 well, i think as we get older, we’ll consciously make the time to get together more often. and even if we can’t, i know that the time we do spend will always be fun and meaningful.
you better have a fantastic time in hong kong! wish i could go with you!
