Are we here already?
Wowzers, another year’s gone by. I can’t believe time went by so fast. 2010 was pretty wonderful to me. Thank you to everyone who made my year so memorable. I would like to take this opportunity to remember the highlights from this past year. (a tradition I started in 2009)
Drum roll please.
January: Training Jonesy for the doggie paddle and high jump. What do you mean I’m allergic to grass and trees?!? Feeling ‘oh so retro’ for roller disco. Who says Christmas has to be on December 25? Sean and I have our re-do xmas without the snot rags and flu medicine.
February: One day I’ll learn to love my birthday again. Oh yea, that little sporting event called the Winter Olympics in town. I did my part by blogging about it here, here and here. Thwack! I pick archery as my fave Olympic sport.
March: I am ninja girl, the original opera ninja. Who knew toothpaste could cause such a fracas? ANNIVERSARY. Fascinated by the red stuff.
April: What to do in case of an alien invasion – my contribution to our office’s emergency manual. Happy 2nd blogoversary to me! When there’s a photo booth, you can’t help but mug for the camera.
May: Sugar and spice and everything nice. That’s what little girls are made of. Reach out and whip someone. Getting our honger on. A day at the zoo.
June: Public speaking is fun. And nerve-wracking. A steampunk bar and the little green fairy. Puss in boots on a boat. This is not Jefferson Starship’s White Rabbit. Weeble Wobbling at Vondel Park. Colin Farrell is not In Bruges, but I am. Wandering the field of windmills.
July: Jonesy gets a taste of the outside world.
August: Double holiday combo: bogging off to Bowen Island and row, row, rowing your boat. Another walk with The Undead. Dirty little mosquitoes.
September: Rubber duckey, you’re the one.
October: I love you forever Edie. Sean’s best friend’s wedding. Whispering to the animals.
November: With the right kind of goggles, I could be Willy Wonka or maybe a lion tamer next year. Jumping the queue to get my Interpol ticket.
December: Little peanut turns four. Xmas with Sean’s family. Freezing my tukus off in Whistler.
The big thing this year for me was that I got to go on a proper holiday. For 2011, I’d love to see Mexico, Egypt or Japan. Anywhere, really. I’m also thankful for all the recognition I received for my work with the opera and will work my tush off to keep on the forefront of social media in the arts.
And of course, another s’wonderful year with Sean. can’t wait to see what 2011 brings.
