What did I choose to do on my first day of (f)unemployment? Go to the Greater Vancouver Zoo! Baby animals newly born!
Here are some pics:
This baboon was craving dandelions. It was cute seeing him reach out to grab the stalks. Some zoo visitors even picked a whole bunch and threw it to him. Nom, nom, nom.
This cheetah was so cute. He came over to where we were and plopped himself on the grass mound, purring away. His purr was so loud. And he wasn’t threatening at all. Just a big old kitty cat who wanted some company.
We literally were 3 feet away from him, a fence separating us. We spent a lot of time with him and even when we had to tear ourselves away to see the rest of the zoo before closing time, it was like he didn’t want us to go. He watched us go, turning his head and kept us in his gaze.
Besides the giraffe and cheetah being highlights of the day for me, I also loved trailing after the peacocks. So regal looking.
A sunny day. Many animals. And my partner in crime. What an awesome day to celebrate a much needed break.
