That’s just great. Wrenched my knee while I was out getting lunch. I just stepped off the sidewalk and into the intersection, when I felt the ligaments in my right knee pull. In opposing directions, it felt like.
I wasn’t even wearing heels at the time. Just flats. And my ankle was stable the whole time. Just a roll in my knee. I didn’t even trip.
But by the time I got back to the office, I couldn’t bend my knee.
Luckily, there’s a chiropractic office downstairs in the building. And he confirmed it – I sprained the medial collateral ligament (along the inside of the knee). It was swollen and will continue to swell for the next 48 hours, so we wouldn’t know if it was level 1 or 2 sprain. (3 being the worse). At best, right now, it looks like a 1 1/2.
On the plus side, it’s not the worse knee sprain he’s ever seen. And if I were to get any knee sprain, this would be the one that I’d want to get. As opposed to injuring the anterior (ACL), posterior (PCL) or lateral (LCL) ligament.
So here I am getting cold laser therapy, in order to get the inflammation down. Then it’s off my feet, popping ibuprofen and hella icing it all weekend.
I was also advised not to drive, so I had to leave my car at work and take a taxi home. And I will need crutches. Happy Friday to me.
