Cue John Williams, his orchestra and the Star Wars’ opening crawl. Today, we went on a geeky pilgrimage to Lucas Films headquarters after walking the Golden Gate Bridge. All to see the Yoda fountain statue.
I imagine that working at Lucas Films is not unlike working at Electronic Arts – a must-see opportunity for the rabid fan. And I’m sure that people who work at both studios don’t find it a big deal after a while (as I did with EA).
My brothers, cousins and I grew up on Star Wars, Empire Strikes Back and Revenge of the Jedi, so it was a must visit for us. Surprisingly, but not really, even my 7 year old niece got into it. She is my brother’s daughter, after all.
We also got to go inside the lobby to view all the Star Wars artifacts, as well as, walk the grounds – which included not only a stunning view of the Palace of Fine Arts, but a statue of Eadweard Muybridge! Apparently, George Lucas is a big fan.

Although it’s by no means, a “Disneyland” or “Universal Studios”, it’s worth checking out, especially if you’re a Star Wars fan. Not a lot of visitors know about this place, so it’s not crowded. And best of all, no Jar Jar Binks artifacts anywhere.
