Well, that was fun – thinking of, sourcing and creating a Halloween costume, if only to spend a few hours in it. Hopefully I can find another occasion so that I can wear it again (costume party, anyone?) It might be a tad too much for lounging around the house, non?

Hi Friend! Any chance you’d be interested in selling the headdress? I’m trying to pull off a last-minute Gracie Law costume for Halloween this year, and don’t think I have the craft skills to build it myself. Let me know if you’re interested! Mitsy.hunter@outlook.com
Hi Mitsy!
Thanks for your interest! I’m glad you like the headdress. It was a lot of fun to make. So sorry, but the headdress is not for sale. Hope you’re still planning on dressing up as Gracie Law though!
Hi there!! I’m interested in making my own Gracie Law costume. I love your dress. Can I ask how you found/made it? Did you use a pattern and how did you source the fabric? Any help would be greatly appreciated! stephaniemdolph@gmail.com
Hi Stephanie,
Thanks for the kudos! It was a fun costume to make, especially the head dress. I bought the material and a dress pattern from a fabric store, one that had the similar shape and neckline from the movie. I experimented with the sleeve on muslin fabric, widening it at the cuff and when I was happy with the shape, use the muslin as the pattern on my actual fabric. The waistband was a separate piece and secured by velcro. I bought gold ribbon to use for the edging. The dress was lined and has a long invisible zipper in the back.
It did take a while to make, so give yourself lots of time. Good luck!
Hi!!! Can I ask where you found your fabric?
Hi Nicci! I went to a fabric store here in Vancouver and looked in the specialty aisle (eg. brocade, silks) Hope you’re able to find something similar at your local fabric store.
