Travel the world Insta-Vienna: Capuchin Church’s Imperial Crypt View this post on Instagram The Capuchin Crypt is home to the Habsburg imperial vault, containing the remains of 149 royal family members. Some had their hearts and inner organs removed and sent to other churches, Augustinerkirche and Stephansdom catacombs – which funnily enough, I could not bring myself to visit. The thought of walking around a place with the skeletal remains of over 11,000 people who were thrown down into the pits during the bubonic plague was more morbid to me than viewing a crypt. Same goes for Paris catacombs with its 6 million residents or any other catacomb for that matter. #capuchincrypt #imperialcrypt #houseofhabsburg #habsburgs #royalfamily #crypt #sarcophagi #sarcophagus #capuchinmonks #capuchinfriars #tombs #vaults #wien #vienna #austria #instatravel A post shared by Ling Chan (@girllightning) on Aug 11, 2017 at 2:47pm PDT Feel free to follow me on Instagram!
