Neighbourhood in Bloom II – Quarantine Edition

I suppose it was too much to think that Vancouver would continue its trend of being one of the best places in the world with the lowest COVID cases slash deaths.

Where once we were front and centre as a glowing example of how to flatten the curve, we have now joined other cities whose numbers are spiking due to young people and their need to party and act like idiots. Who cares about all the social distancing and donning of masks we’ve all complied with the past few months when there are keggers and drum circles parties to hit?

What the ‘eff is wrong with all these 20-something dumb-asses? I mean, I get it. I remember what it was like to be in my 20s. But come ON. The world is in the grips of a pandemic. People really are the worst.

Expect a backslide to phase 2. Jerks.

But let’s pivot to something a little more positive. Like an update on the summer blooms in our neighbourhood.

For us, a walk is therapy. It’s a great way to help with any anxious feelings. The abundance of flowers remind us that there’s beauty in life, and that even though things are transitory, they will be reborn and flourish again.

Continue to stay safe, friends. When things get you down, look for things that make you smile, that will help you to think that this too – waves hand in the air – shall pass.
