When I was a kidlet, Halloween was perhaps my favourite holidays of the year. You have candy and horror movies and dressing up and sleepovers. And candy! (I thought that deserved a second mention).
As an adult, I still haven’t grown out of all the Halloween festivities. Luckily for me, neither have my friends.
Since moving back from New York five years ago, we’re still indulging our inner child by donning costumes and taking to the streets together.
I’m feeling nostalgic, so let’s stroll down amnesia lane with some of my favourite past Halloween costume pics:
2007 – people thought I was Street Fighter‘s Chun-Li in my costume. Ok, I’ll take it.
2008 – Potters House of Horrors, otherwise known as, laughing until I’m crying because I’m absolutely scared sh*tless.
2009 – Ghastly girls playing haunted house
2010 – That’s Ms Steampunk to you
2011 – I’m a vampire killing priestess. I can’t believe that less than 5 people knew what I was.
2012 – Lady Aviatrix. Amelia Earhart was my inspiration.
2013 – Recycling my steampunk look because I just got back from China the day before Halloween.
2014 – Our first couples costume! Jack and Gracie of Big Trouble in Little China.
2015 – Post apocalyptic warrior woman from Mad Max: Fury Road world.
2016 – A gorgon with a headful of snakes. Ready to turn men into stone.
2017 – Ghost in the Shell’s creepy and murderous geishabot.
2018 – Hela the Goddess of Death. Because cape and headdress!
2019 – Phoenix, a fire bird symbolizing birth, death + rebirth.
Wowzers. My, how time flies when you’re spooking around! Plus, that’s a lot of costumes!
